As competition is getting tougher, parents tend to expect a lot from their kids. This leads to mental pressure and things starts getting worse.
Expectations from your children to do the best and excel in every field is good but pressurizing them is not the key.
You might not notice but this pressure breaks your child. After that the lost confidence is hard to build.
This pressure is the highest during exams. Pressurizing them will not help them at all.
Parents must keep in mind that every child is different and similarly their skills are different. Some children are good at sports, some at arts and drawing, some at extra-curricular activities and as a parent you should support and motivate them to polish their skills.
How to deal with your children in a right way?
- Become friends with your children and talk to them regularly.
- Make them believe that you will always support them in their difficult times.
- Don't pressurize them to do something they cannot.
- Understand your child's skills and motivate them.
- In case you feel your child is very stressed, counsel him/her.
- In worse situation, take them to child psychologist.
