Peer and Parental Pressure - Introduction

Peer and Parental Pressure, a topic which is not new to us. Thousands of students attempt suicide due to immense pressure from outside world. This pressure is so intense that students decide to end their life. But is the solution?
 Why doesn't people understand that everyone cannot be the best in the world.
Each student or child possess some unique quality. Parents, on the other hand, pressurize their children to get top level academic marks and this sometimes built mental pressure on them. Every child's mental intelligence level is different, but constantly poking them to be the best breaks them.
Talking about friends and circle, peer pressure is also a thing which is a serious issue which must be dealt correctly. The constant pressure of being the coolest and best among your friends sometimes lead them indulging in wrong activities.
What should be done to prevent it?

  • Call YUVA Helpline - 10580, when you feel your child is under peer and parental pressure. 
  • Talk to your child, if you feel any difference in their behaviour.
  • Dont pressurize them to get best academic marks. Motivation is the key. 
  • Let your child choose a good company, if you feel your child is under peer pressure, talk and help them.
  • If your child is depressed, take him to counselling. 
  • Remember every child is different, motivate them to polish their skills.

In the past, I have never been inclined to participate in sports. Honestly, I didn’t like it, but many persons whom I lived with kept telling me every day how good, it was. Since peer pressure was growing, I decided to go to the gym.
