21st Century Independent Women- Are They Really Independent?

Today women are given equal status just like men in our society. Gone are the old days when women were not allowed to get an education or work just like men.
India has always been a male-dominating society. It will not be wrong to say that in some context women still don’t get what she deserves.
The woman is a multitasker, she is the best at every job of life, be it a mother, a daughter, a sister or as a wife. But why is it so that she still has to fight for her rights? We talk about women empowerment but does our society really empowering women?
Who doesn’t know about the increasing rape cases? According to the surveys, every day around 92 women are raped in India and in Delhi, it's 4. Of course, we know that Delhi is the rape capital of India. But does all this ever going to stop?
Apart from rape, women are sexually assaulted, mentally assaulted or physically hurt. They are challenged at every path of life. It is not that they are helpless, a woman knows how to fight at every obstacle. Women are growing but why is it so that the society always drag them back to the pit.
The woman is expected to cover herself up, to keep her head down in front of everyone, not talk to any stranger and not be outside home after sunset. It’s really a woman’s fault? No, it is the mistake of the old rugged mindset of people. Today woman is rising and has reached the moon. But where is our society reaching?
Daily, we hear of some women getting raped, murdered or burnt. Being a woman, I feel unsafe right after I step out of my house. I keep praying that I reach home safe at the end of the day. But it is just not me, it is every girl or a woman in our country.
Rapists, murderers or assaulters are free and no one bothers to punish them by law. In the end, a woman is asked to hide her from the world. Women are worshipped in our society, then why we face such crimes when we do nothing wrong?
Till how long, a woman has to sacrifice her independence for the stereotypical society? Till how long, a woman will be judged for the things she has not done?
Well, the answer lies beneath you. Every ounce of positive thinking can change the perspective. The change is you. Rightly said by Diane Mariechild - “A woman is a full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.”

Why People Should Exercise

In the past, I have never been inclined to participate in sports. Honestly, I didn’t like it, but many persons whom I lived with kept telling me every day how good, it was. Since peer pressure was growing, I decided to go to the gym. It wasn’t until then that I could really understand people when they said exercise really helped a person get organized and keep yourself in a healthy physically and mentally. For starters, when you are a lazy person, it is difficult to take the first step, but it is all a matter of committing yourself to something that will provide you a lot of positive feedback. Once you start doing exercise and observing positive results, you actually enjoy it. It takes a lot of effort and strong will, but it's worth it. The principal thing to do is to participate in an activity you like. If you do you’ll start organizing your day in a way that enables you to do everything you have to, including exercising. You will no longer be a ...
